Goalkeeper

Owen Evans

Newport-born Owen joined us from League Two Barnet in July 2026 and brought with him a wealth of EFL experience after clocking up around 150 appearances for the likes of Cheltenham Town and Walsall.

A commanding presence between the posts at 6ft 2in, he launched his career with a debut for Wigan Athletic in a 2-1 win over Blackpool in a League Cup second round tie at The DW Stadium in August 2017.

Capped by Wales at under-19 and under-21 level, he featured for them in group qualifying games against Switzerland and Portugal ahead of the 2019 European under-21 Championships.

Andy Firth

Hailing from Ripon in North Yorkshire, Andy joined us in the dual role of goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach in August 2026.

After working his way through the Academy ranks at Liverpool, Andy moved to Ian Evatt's Barrow in July 2018, where he made 18 National League appearances before heading to Ibrox, where a Rangers debut awaited him against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in May 2019.

He was number one under Neil Gibson at Connah's Quay Nomads from 2022 to 2024 and had a spell coaching the keepers at Saudi Pro League Al-Ettifaq prior to joining us.

Louie Fallon

Goalkeeper

Louie Fallon

A star graduate of the club's Academy system, Louie quickly made his mark as an assured young goalkeeper as he worked his way through to the under-19 and Reserve teams.

A local lad who watched Alty games as a youngster, the 2025-26 season proved memorable for Louie as he made the breakthrough into the first team and made six senior appearances, impressing in each of them.

He was still four months short of his 20th birthday when we announced, on August 6th 2026, that he was being loaned to Welsh Premier outfit Airbus UK Broughton until the New Year to gain more experience of first-team football at senior level.

Max Beddow

Goalkeeper

Max Beddow

Another exciting product of Alty's Academy set-up, teenager Max's emergence as a young goalkeeper of real potential was recognised in June 2026, when he was awarded his first professional contract.

As the 2026-27 season got underway, it was felt that, at still only 18 years of age, he would benefit from gaining first-team experience on loan, and he subsequently joined 1874 Northwich in a temporary move until the New Year.

Defender

Lewis Banks

Potteries-born, Lewis captained his home club's under-21s and under-23s and was named under-23 player-of-the-year at the age of 21, Stoke's Academy coach marking the presentation by telling him: "You lead by example, and it is clear other players look up to you."

After a season at Stafford Rangers, he embarked on a highly-successful spell with Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division, where his 100-plus appearances included a wealth of European experience and a player-of-the-year award in his first season at the club in 2019.

His travels took him to Arbroath, between Dundee and Aberdeen on the east coast of Scotland, in January, but he readily admitted he was glad to be closer to home after linking up with the Robins in the summer of 2023.

Eddy Jones

Defender

Eddy Jones

Initially joined us on loan from Stoke City in February 2022 and made an immediate impact as a rock-solid left-back with a flair for getting forward during 13 appearances as Alty finished that season in mid-table.

He was back for a second loan spell in September the same year, and it became a permanent transfer the following January. By the time Alty achieved a fourth-place finish and entry into the play-offs at the end of the 23-24 campaign, Eddy was acknowledged as one of the National League's most accomplished full-backs.

He was hampered by an ACL injury midway through the next season, but he fought his way back to form and fitness to sign a new contract in June 2026.

Jake Cooper

Defender

Jake Cooper

Another defender to establish himself as a firm favourite with Alty fans after originally arriving at The J.Davidson on loan. In Jake's case, it was from Rotherham United at the beginning of February, 2022, and he did enough to convince the Robins the move should be made permanent when he left Rotherham at the end of the 21-22 season.

A tall, commanding centre-back who started life as a striker with Sheffield United's junior teams, Jake lends his height and heading ability to any attacking set-pieces and went into the 26-27 season with well over 100 Alty appearances to his name.

Charlie Olson

Defender

Charlie Olson

It was hailed as a major coup for the Robins when we announced, in February 2026, that Charlie had agreed to become a fully-fledged Alty player on an 18-month deal after a hugely-successful time with us on loan.

The Liverpool-born central defender was still only 21 and had already skippered Blackburn Rovers' under-21 team when he first joined us on loan, and the leadership qualities that complemented his defensive strength and reliability were soon apparent as he stepped seamlessly into Alty's back four.

He spent the first half of last season on loan at Oldham Athletic, but when it became known, at the start of 2026, that he was leaving Blackburn, Alty moved swiftly to win the race to offer him a fresh start.

Reuben Lopata-White

Defender

Reuben Lopata-White

A highly-promising 20-year-old central defender, Reuben joined us on loan from Premier League Leeds United on August 14th 2026 and will be at The J.Davidson Stadium until the opening month of 2027.

After securing the Leeds Academy graduate's services to bolster the Robins' defence and ensure we have adequate cover in the middle of the back four, manager Neil Gibson wasted no time handing him a debut in our Enterprise National League game away to Sutton United soon after.

Reuben has been with Leeds since he was 10 years old, and, as well as featuring prominently for their under-21s in Premier League 2, he had a loan spell with Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton last season.

Sam Barnes

Defender

Sam Barnes

Sam is a Blackburn-born central defender who captained his home club's under-18 team after joining them as an 11-year-old and made his professional debut for the first team in a 4-3 win over Walsall in a Carabao Cup first-round tie at Ewood Park in August 2023.

After moving on from Blackburn at the end of the 23-24 campaign, he joined Barrow in League Two and spent a season with them before becoming a free agent in the summer of 2025. He signed for Alty in August 2025, and, after proving himself mobile, pacey and comfortable on the ball during the course of 21 appearances, put pen to paper on a new deal in June 2026.

Joel Bailey

Defender

Joel Bailey

Another success story for the club's Academy, in his fledgling career to date, Joel has already worked his way through the junior ranks, reached first team level with us and received rave reviews while out on loan.

A footballing central defender who is adept at bringing the ball out from the back, Joel made such an impression on loan at Witton Albion in the Pitching In Northern Premier League West Division that he was chosen by boss Ben Harrison as manager's player-of-the-year.

In August 2025, he then stepped up a level by going on loan to NPL Premier Division Bamber Bridge, where he made 24 appearances before being recalled to The J.Davidson Stadium.

Anthony Forde

Defender

Anthony Forde

Hailing from Ballingarry in County Limerick, Anthony brought with him experience of playing at the highest level of English football when he joined us in January 2026 after three years at Wrexham and a brief spell with Burton Albion.

Equally adept at wing-back or outside-right, Anthony progressed through the Academy ranks at Wolverhampton Wanderers and made his Premier League debut away to Chelsea in November 2011.

He went on to make six top-flight appearances in what proved to be a relegation season for Wolves and played over 400 times across the top five divisions, mostly in the EFL, before the Robins offered him a fresh start in the Enterprise National League. At international level, he has 11 Republic of Ireland under-21 caps.

Born in Swindon, Jack is another player who made a favourable impression on loan to earn himself a permanent move to The J.Davidson Stadium.

After starting out at Stockport County and then Brighton & Hove Albion, the 5ft 11in central midfielder's career began to take off when he joined Notts County in a two-year deal that included a loan period at Alty that began in October 2025 and lasted until two-and-a-half months later.

He made seven appearances in red and white during that temporary stay and became our fourth new arrival of the summer when he signed a full-time contract with us in June 2026.

An all-action, hugely-talented midfielder, Liam followed the same path as several other Alty players by impressing on loan and then being snapped up the minute he became available.

Still only 22 when he became a fully-fledged Alty player at the end of June 2026, his brilliant close control and ability to go past players was capped by his first goal since signing, a spectacular solo effort in the 2-1 win over Eastleigh.

Born in Miami Beach, Florida, Liam launched his career in England with Salford City, from where he joined Alty on a one-month loan in September 2024. Another successful loan followed, and it was viewed as a coup when he chose Alty after leaving Rochdale.

A thorn in Alty's side often enough in his Rochdale days, it was seen as a significant breakthrough when we secured Aidan's silky skills by persuading him to become our second new signing of the summer in June 2026.

An attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and sublime ability to ghost past opponents, Aidan signed off as a Rochdale player by helping them defeat Boreham Wood on penalties in a dramatic National League play-off final at Wembley.

A product of Manchester United's Academy, having joined them at the age of six, he made over 40 appearances in the EFL for Doncaster Rovers before dropping into the National League with Eastleigh and then Rochdale.

A strong, energetic midfielder with an eye for a pass, Alty landed a player with a notable sporting background when we signed former Manchester City midfielder Kian on an 18-month deal at the beginning of February 2026.

His dad Ian clocked up around 700 appearances for Rotherham United, Chesterfield, Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest, great uncle John played for and managed Rotherham and mum Leanne is a former international gymnast.

A career in sport was always on the cards, and Kian duly joined City's Academy as an 11-year old in 2015, progressing through the ranks and playing a pivotal role in successive under-18 Premier League titles before being loaned to Wycombe Wanderers and then Crewe Alexandra.

Matty Kosylo

Alty's longest-serving player by a distance and one who is still valued by everyone at the club just as much as when he joined us after leaving AFC Fylde in August 2020.

Throughout an eye-catching spell as FC Halifax Town’s attacking mainstay, and even during a briefer time at Fylde, attacking midfielder Matty was on Alty's radar, and he was soon showing why as he hit the ground running after signing for us when we were still operating as a part-time club.

He remained with us for the transition to full-time status in the summer of 2022 and has always been a firm favourite with supporters for his attacking craft, ability to chip in with goals and unwavering commitment to the Alty cause.

Yet another bright prospect to develop and grow in stature and confidence under the guidance of the club's Academy coaches and progress all the way to the first-team squad.

Remi's touch on the ball and ability to spot a pass as an attacking midfield player was noticed and admired at senior level while he was still turning out for our Academy teams, and he soon found himself training with the first team and being involved on match days.

As part of his ongoing development, he has been loaned out to the likes of Congleton Town and Witton Albion, which can only stand him in good stead.

Alty recruited a vast amount of EFL experience when Otis arrived at The J.Davidson Stadium on an 18-month deal at the beginning of January 2026.

Born just a few miles down the road in Ashton-under-Lyne, the talented midfielder's career has taken him the length and breadth of the country, clocking up well over 200 appearances for Yeovil, Mansfield, Tranmere, Leyton Orient and Grimsby and many more during briefer spells with other League clubs.

A Pakistan international who links the play superbly and rarely wastes a pass, Otis has settled seamlessly into the Robins' midfield and can operate in wide positions or, more usually, in a central role.

Hailing from Sutton-in-Ashfield in Notts, Jimmy was described as one of the most natural finishers in non-League football when he signed for Alty in June 2025, and he has certainly lived up to that billing.

As a 17-year-old Academy hopeful at Mansfield, he scored four goals for the Reserves against Port Vale in March 2019 and was immediately elevated to the senior squad by manager David Flitcroft, who handed him a two-year contract soon after.

On loan to Notts County the following season, he bagged his first senior hat-trick away to Woking, and more prolific scoring duly ensued at Boston United, culminating in a National League North play-off final winner at Brackley Town.

Though billed as an attacking player who can operate as a striker or winger, Sam began the 2026-27 campaign at left-back and quickly made a positive impact with his ability to get forward and add an extra supply line for Alty's front players.
