Weather claims Curzon Trophy tie, but it's ON for Tuesday!
Altrincham’s Isuzu FA Trophy tie with Curzon Ashton has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at The J.Davidson Stadium.
With temperatures remaining at zero or below since the postponement of Tuesday night’s Vanarama National League home game against Maidenhead United, and with little likelihood of an improvement before Saturday, it was decided to arrange an inspection of the playing surface.
The pitch inspection took place just before midday this morning, and the referee who conducted it duly deemed conditions unfit for the game to go ahead.
With milder weather forecast from Sunday, a new date was quickly agreed, and the third-round tie will now take place at The J.Davidson Stadium on Tuesday, December 20th, kicking off at 7.45pm.
Tickets for the rearranged date are available now and can be purchased by clicking on https://altrinchamfc.
The image that accompanies this update was taken this morning and shows the wintry scene that greeted the referee who conducted the pitch inspection. But don't worry - if the forecast is to be believed, the surface will be restored to its usual lush green appearance when Curzon, and their collection of revered Alty old boys, visit us on Tuesday evening.
