This Saturday it’s a big one as Alty play host to Vanarama National League leaders Forest Green Rovers at The J.Davidson Stadium (3pm kick-off).

Two teams chasing promotion

The Robins are approaching this match in fine form, with only one loss in our last 10 in all competitions. The Robins are also unbeaten at The J.Davidson Stadium in the Vanarama National League since August. We currently sit sixth in the league table, firmly in the fight for a play-off spot. 

Last time out Alty were victorious away from home, securing a 2-1 win against Eastleigh.  Alex Newby was on the scoresheet once again after capitalising on a goalkeeper error, before Tom Crawford scored the winning goal in the final 20 minutes.

Forest Green Rovers also come into this match on a high. Currently sitting at the top of the table, they are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions and secured a 1-0 win over Rochdale last time out in the league. Kyle McAllister is the danger man for Rovers with eight goals and seven assists in the league so far this season.

“It'll be a very challenging game and one that we're looking forward to. It's a big game for us, they are a very organised side, they don't concede many goals. 

"We've been really pleased with the way we've started the new year, three wins, nine goals scored, and we go into the weekend in really good form. We've got a lot of confidence at the moment and we'll take it into the game on Saturday."

Last time against Forest Green Rovers

In August, Alty suffered a late 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at The New Lawn. Christian Doidge opened the scoring for the opposition in the first half. 

George Wilson thought he'd secured a point for the Robins after equalising in the 83rd minute, but Charlie McCann won it for Forest Green with a goal in added time.

Gates open at the J. Davidson Stadium from 1pm on Saturday, with the CSH Bar and Fan Zone pouring and serving delicious food and drink all afternoon long.

Solly Temkin of The Bliss will be performing live ahead of kick-off and we'll have regular beer and cider favourites from the likes of Pomona Island, Titanic, Silent Brew Co. and Hogan's Cider pouring PLUS our signature curry dishes courtesy of The Authentic Food Co for those of you looking for something different alongside our classic stadium food.

Our Stamford Quarter retail store in Altrincham town centre will be open between 10am-12:30pm on Saturday before we head over and open our pop-up shop between 1pm-3pm in the CSH Bar selling shirts, scarves and bobble hats.
