The Altrincham FC Community Beer Festival 2024
THE stand-out event on the social calendar is heading our way again after arrangements were finalised for our latest eagerly-anticipated Altrincham FC Community Beer Festival at The J.Davidson Stadium.
As an exceptional season for the Robins draws to a close, what better way to celebrate the sterling deeds of Phil Parkinson and his players than by raising a glass filled with some of the finest ales in the Altrincham area to the accompaniment of live music and comedy?
It's difficult to think of one, as those who have attended previous festivals will readily testify, and the line-up of attractions in place for the Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday May 25th suggests this year's festival will be as memorable as ever.
There is a packed programme scheduled for each of the three days, and we will be making full use of the stadium, with the Community Sports Hall, Vice-Presidents' Lounge and Fan Zone all primed for action.
As is the custom, a large marquee will be in place in the corner of the ground between the Venditan Golf Road End terraces and the Community Sports Hall, with a wide-ranging list of delights on offer including Stubborn Mule, Dunham Massey, The Cider Press, Pomona Island, Sureshot, Titanic, Marston's and many more.
Mindful that a beer or two can sharpen the appetite, Little Red Pizza Co, with their delicious wood fired pizzas, and The Authentic Food Co, famed for taste and quality, have been invited along and will be providing top-class catering throughout.
What a weekend it promises to be, starting on Saturday the 25th at midday on an opening day running until 11pm (over-16s only after 7pm) and including live music that will be headlined by The Abberettes. As with the beers, we've gone for both quality and quantity on the music front, with the list of artists performing live over the course of the weekend including The Flying Squad, Andrew Alty Sings, Rosemary Quaye, The Bliss, Kate Thea &The Mob and Michael and The Weltones.
Sunday the 26th also runs from noon until 11pm but will have the added attraction of a comedy evening from 7pm (over-18s only) featuring renowned stand-up comics Dawn Bailey, Kevin Finn, Anthony Williams and Jenny Hart as well as a DJ.
Monday, from 12-6pm, will be Community Day, showcasing all the best the Altrincham FC Community Sports has to offer, and there will be something to keep children entertained on all three afternoons, with activities and games taking place and a bouncy castle and face painting among the other attractions.
Day tickets are now FREE for adults and are available online via Eventbrite here, while two under-18s will be admitted free of charge with each adult (between 12-7pm daily, subject to availability).
