Sam Taylor becomes the first of our new signings this off-season after the forward agreed to a deal with the Robins.

The 22-year-old, who is leaving Tranmere Rovers, spent the vast majority of 2025/26 on loan with Linfield in the NIFL Premiership, making 26 appearances for The Blues.

On agreeing to sign for Alty, Sam said: “I’m really pleased to have joined Alty and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I can’t wait to get in for pre-season, really hit the ground running ahead of the new season.

“I’m a quick, very attacking player who can play as a striker or winger and I can’t wait to play in front of our fans and get them off their seats.”

"He's a player whose progress I've watched closely from my time at Tranmere. A player with a huge amount of potential and dynamism, who can play down the middle or out wide and he's someone who suits the style of play we want to implement.

Sam's Career Background

After coming through the ranks at Prenton Park, Sam signed his first professional contract with Tranmere in 2022, and made six appearances for Rovers, as well as enjoying loan spells with Bootle in the NPL West and Oldham Athletic in the National League, before last season’s stint in Northern Ireland.
