Alty bow out of Cheshire Senior Cup at Hyde

A much-changed Alty side bowed out of the Cheshire Senior Cup at the quarter-final stage to Hyde United on a freezing cold night at the Project Solar Stadium.
The first proper chance of the game was dispatched with confidence by Antoine Makoli, as the home winger received a pass from Jack Redshaw before sliding past a challenge and finishing low beyond Ollie Byrne.
That was in the 16th minute and it took another 10 for a second chance to present itself. Again it was for Hyde, but this time Nyal Bell's low shot struck the post and rolled to safety.
In response the busy George Wilson forced Jordan Eastham into a smart save as the break drew near; the game starting the slowly open up as the half time whistle sounded.
Within 30 seconds of the restart Redshaw had tested the reflexes of Byrne, this was quickly followed by a smart save at the other end from Eastham to deny a George Burroughs' header.
Kosylo shot just over and Wilson saw an effort snared by Eastham as Alty put a bit of pressure on. But the danger was lurking on the break and Byrne had to get down well to stop Makoli from adding a second for the Tigers.
Then, following a Ellis Johnson dismissal for a late challenge on Kosylo, the visitors upped the ante. Justin Donawa struck a post, Wilson shot wide again from distance and Dior Angus had two good efforts well saved by the impressive Eastham.
Unfortunately, with five minutes to go, Hyde finished the game off. A quick break saw sub Rio Clegg go clean through and his low finish past Byrne secured the home side's passage to the semi-finals.
