Jake commits to a fourth season with Alty!

Altrincham's squad for 2025-26 continues to take shape after Jake Cooper became the latest player to accept the offer of new terms and pledge himself to the Robins for another campaign.

The 24-year old was snapped up from Rotherham United in 2022, after impressing on loan, and soon established himself as a key member of Alty's defensive unit with a string of assured performances.

Phil Parkinson rates him highly as a consistently dependable centre-back with a sure touch in possession, and the Alty boss was delighted to secure his name on another contract at The J.Davidson Stadium.

"Jake has been with us for a number of seasons now, progressing year-on-year," he said. "He had a bit of a stop-start season last time because of a little bit of form then injury, but the season before was a bit like Isaac Marriott - he was outstanding, the mainstay of the team.

"We believe Jake can hit those levels again, and, if he can, we will have an exceptional centre-half on our hands who will enhance everything we are doing."

After banishing any doubts about where his immediate future lies, Jake set his sights on hitting the ground running in his quest for a starting place when our 2025-26 campaign gets underway.

"I'm really pleased to be extending my stay at Altrincham," he said. "It's a great club to play for, and I can't wait for the new season to start."

Neither can we, Jake, all the more so after your decision to extend your already distinguished Alty career - all the best for the new campaign!
