Club Statement | Pre kick-off incident
PRIOR to kick-off at Tuesday night’s Vanarama National League game at The J.Davidson Stadium against Dorking Wanderers, two pyrotechnics were thrown onto the pitch from the Golf Road End.
This is a contravention of National League rules, and the rules in force at the ground, and could lead to the club being sanctioned. Altrincham FC take this transgression very seriously and will be taking steps to prevent a recurrence.
We have had a number of names of potential suspects made known to us and investigations are ongoing. If we can identify those responsible, they will be banned from the J.Davidson Stadium for the remainder of this season. If anyone can provide any further information on the incident, please do contact the club.
As a consequence of this incident, we will be stepping up security checks on entry to the ground. We ask for all of your patience in the coming games over the potential increase in waiting times to gain access to the stadium. We will of course work to minimize any inconvenience. In addition, we will look to increase the stewarding presence on the terraces – the top end of the Pop Side in the first half and the Golf Road in the second half. We will be more stringent on imposing penalties including ejection from the ground for all misdemeanours at forthcoming games. There is also the possibility of partial ground closures if this kind of behaviour continues – if you do witness any anti-social behaviour please contact your nearest steward.
Thank you to the overwhelming majority of fans who attend the J.Davidson Stadium and get behind the Robins in a positive and responsibly way.
We look forward to seeing you all again on Saturday as we continue our push for the play-offs!
