Back home to face Boreham Wood

Alty welcome title-chasing Boreham Wood to The J.Davidson Stadium on Saturday, hoping to carry on where they left off after a strong away performance against Forest Green Rovers on Wednesday.

Following the midweek draw in Gloucestershire, The Robins sit 17th in the Enterprise National League, with Olly Crankshaw’s first half goal taking the winger into second place in the club's goalscoring chart with six on the season.

The Opposition

Saturday’s opponents are third placed Boreham Wood, who under the management of Luke Garrard find themselves three points off leaders York City with 20 games remaining in 2025/26.

Alty will be hoping to keep quiet striker Matt Rush, who has scored 15 goals this season, (the second highest in the league) alongside creative midfielder Abdul Abdulmalik.

Hear It From The Gaffer

"We're very aware of the phase of the season we're in at the moment. Once we get past the Carlisle game we'll have played nine of the top 10 across the last couple of months.

"Nobody could really have seen that result coming in midweek, with Boreham Wood losing at home to Scunthorpe. They're a very good team and we've been prepping as soon as the coach started back up from Forest Green on Wednesday night to make sure, despite the quick turnaround, that we're ready for the game."

Security on Matchdays

Working closely with our stewarding team, and in consultation with Greater Manchester Police, we are carrying out screening procedures to prevent potential weapons or prohibited items from entering the ground. These checks are now becoming common practice at football stadiums across the country and are part of our shared responsibility to protect each other.

The introduction of Martyn’s Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025) has also placed greater emphasis on the legal duty of venues like ours to assess risks and have robust safety plans in place. While much of this reflects what we already do, it reinforces the need for vigilance and preparation in today’s world.

We completely understand that supporters may sometimes feel these checks go too far. However, we want to be clear: safety will always come first. Our goal is to provide the best possible matchday experience in a safe and welcoming environment for all.

On behalf of the club, thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we put these important measures into practice.
