Altrincham vs Chesterfield match preview
Alty return to The J.Davidson Stadium this bank holiday Monday, as we look to secure our first win of the season when we face Chesterfield (3pm).
Phil Parkinson’s men faced 9th place Boreham Wood at the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park on Saturday, securing another point on the board after holding the hosts to a 1-1 draw and moving us up one place to sit 19th in the Vanarama National League table.
Despite not securing the win, the Robin’s will take plenty of positives into our bank holiday clash, including a debut league appearance for goalkeeper Ollie Byrne, a first goal for Preston loanee Aaron Bennett and a return to the substitute bench for Brad Jackson, after an extended period of absence due to injury.
About The Opposition
Monday’s opponents Chesterfield will head into the game full of confidence on the back of a 3-1 win at home to Barnet on Friday night, goals from Ollie Banks, Akwasi Asante and Kabongo Tshimanga resulted in all three points for the Spireites, which leaves them sitting in third place and currently unbeaten in the Vanarama National League.
