Robins on the road again - Huish Park awaits in-form Alty

By Joe Ward

Alty are back on the road in Vanarama National League action on Saturday when we travel to Somerset to take on Yeovil Town (3pm kick-off).

It's been yet another successful week for the Robins following our 3-2 victory over Maidenhead United on Tuesday night.

Two cracking set-piece goals from Chris Conn-Clarke and a close range finish from Marcus Dinanga was just enough to extend our unbeaten run to 10 games on a bitterly cold evening at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Phil Parkinson and his players will be hungry to produce more of the same and continue our purple patch at Huish Park this Saturday.

For the hosts, they'll be looking to forget their last performance, following a disappointing 4-1 defeat away from home against Bromley.

Manager's Views

Altrincham Manager Phil Parkinson spoke with Rob Dawley following Alty's 3-2 win against Maidenhead United on Tuesday evening.

About The Opposition

The Glovers currently sit in 19th place, having won just three of their last 12 league games.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for Yeovil in the January transfer window, permanently signing Jordan Young from Chippenham Town, Charlie Cooper from Oldham Athletic on an 18-month contract and Jordan Maguire-Drew from Grimsby Town and landing Jack Clarke on loan from Chesterfield until the end of the season.

The reinforcements will help offset an injury to Owen Bevan, who missed the Bromley game and would not have featured against Barnet on Tuesday night, had that game gone ahead.

Alty and Yeovil last met earlier this season in a close encounter at The J.Davidson Stadium. Despite going down twice in that game, the Robins fought back to earn a much-deserved point, following an injury-time equaliser from Egli Kaja.

However, much has changed since then and, if form is anything to go by, the hosts will have to work hard to keep out an Alty side which doesn't look like slowing down anytime soon.
