Daryll Abrahams appointed new women's manager

Altrincham Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Daryll Abrahams as women’s first team manager from July 1st, 2025.
Daryll grew up in Sale and attended Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College in Altrincham. A keen Alty fan, captaining Altrincham FC as a football scholar (16-18) whilst completing a BTEC Level 3 in Sport.
Higher education started with a degree in Sports Coaching at Trafford College in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, winning student and inspiration of the year.
A bachelor’s degree with honours in Football Coaching & Administration at The University of South Wales followed, in partnership with Wigan Athletic and The English Football League and the newly appointed manager is currently studying for a master’s degree in leadership.
In terms of career experience, having played from the age of 10, Daryll became coach at 17 and subsequently first team manager at Ashton on Mersey FC, developing the team from a flexi team to Sunday league to high level Saturday football in four seasons.
During the same time that he was manager, Daryll, who has a UEFA B License, has worked for Manchester United for the past four seasons and since 2022 has been Head Football Coach - Community Engagement, Disability & Inclusion for over 250+ across six venues weekly also managing Manchester United’s Disability Teams u12, u16 & open age team.
For the past two years Daryll has worked for Liverpool Football Club as an Academy Coach with their International Academy working on camps across the UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark & Iceland, supporting players within the Foundation and Youth Development phases (U9–U16).
During the last 12 months, Alty’s future women’s manager worked in the Middle East for
Juventus as an academy coach, with their International Academy in the Foundation & Youth Development phase for 9-16 years old.
Since 2021, Daryll has been employed as a BTEC Sports Teacher and Academy Football
Coach to students aged 16-19 at iSPORTS Football College in partnership with Fleetwood
Town FC.
Also, during the last year, Daryll carried out the role of Head of Football Operations at Sale United FC, one of the largest grassroots football clubs in the North West, overseeing 65+ teams, 120+ coaches and 1,250+ players across all age groups, from Under-5s to adult football.
Daryll replaces Alex Hilton-Slee, whose achievements at Altrincham FC Women this season caught the attention of Everton’s Academy, which he joined in January.
The newly appointed manager for the 2025/26 season said: “It’s an incredible honour to be named First Team Manager of Altrincham FC Women. This town has played a massive role in my personal and professional journey – from coming to the stadium and walking past every day to go to school as a child, to captaining the club as a scholarship player and now stepping into the dugout as women’s manager.
"I’m passionate about leading and developing people. I want to build something that the town can be proud of. I can’t wait to get started, meet with the staff, players and supporters, and help grow the women’s side of this great football club.”
Recently appointed Head of Women’s Football, Duncan Jones (pictured above with Daryll), who has been in charge of team affairs since January, added: “It is exciting times at Altrincham FC Women, and it is a privilege to get Daryll onboard as manager for the 25/26 season and beyond.
“We were looking for someone who shares our passion to realise the club’s potential.

“Daryll has a hard-to-find blend of premium coaching qualifications, management
experience, extensive contacts, positivity and integrity. He is the perfect candidate to help propel the club to the next level."
