What a generous gesture by AO to back our "incredibly inspiring" Joseph!
The starting gun is getting ever nearer for Joseph's No Limits challenge, and our intrepid young athlete continues to take the demands of a testing training schedule in his determined stride.
France has again been the venue for warm weather training for Joseph over the past week, and he has had to contend with not only the exhausting heat but a terrain that has not exactly been flat.
Not surprisingly, given the steely resolve that underpins everything he does, he has not let that deter him from ensuring he is as well prepared as possible for the imminent stamina-sapping challenge of running 10 lots of 10ks in the space of five days.
On the Fundraising front, the No Limits challenge has now reached £207,000, including pledges, meaning that the £250,000 target is now well and truly in sight.
Thanks for that is due in no small measure to the UK’s most trusted electricals retailer, AO.
It was a huge coup for Alty to be able to announce AO as front of shirt sponsor – and AO, together with its founder and CEO John Roberts with his wife Sally, have donated an incredible £30,000 between them to the cause.
“Joseph is an incredibly inspiring young person, so when we heard about his epic fundraising challenge to help other people realise their potential through Altrincham FC Community Sports, we simply had to throw our support firmly behind him,” said John.
“I’ve always believed that for those willing to put in hard work and believe in themselves, the sky really is the limit, and Joseph is living that philosophy in spades.
"He’s an inspiring young man, and every one of AO’s 3,000 employees wishes him every success. We can’t wait to see him pass the finish line at the Altrincham 10k and smash his target.”
We are now less than two weeks away from Joseph flying out to Amsterdam and embarking on a challenge that ends on September 1st with the Altrincham 10k, which will include a stop off at Moss Lane.
It goes without saying that it will spur him on no end to see Alty fans out in force, so if you can possibly get along to cheer him on, aim to be at the ground for 10.30 am on Sunday the 1st.
