FA Cup tie with Macc beckons for Alty women
Alex Hilton-Slee is facing a tough baptism as manager of Altrincham Women's team as The J.Davidson Stadium prepares to play host to the club's first cup tie of the season in just over a fortnight's time.
Alex underlined his objectives for the season ahead in a recent interview with AltyTV, and the first will be to find a way of getting past local rivals Macclesfield in an FA Cup first qualifying round tie that kicks off at 2pm on Sunday September 1st.
It will be the new manager's first competitive appearance in the dug-out since his appointment during the close-season, and it promises to be a challenging one against opponents who are fresh from winning the league the Robins will be playing in this coming campaign.
That's the Cheshire Women's and Youth League Premier Division, and the list of 2024-25 fixtures for the Robins begins on Sunday, September 8th.
First up, it's an eagerly-anticipated FA Cup clash with Alty's long-standing Moss Rose rivals, and, as an extra incentive for Robins fans, the club have decided to make entry free of charge.
Alty versus Macc encounters are always keenly contested and well worth watching, and our women players would appreciate as much support as possible as they bid to secure a place in the second qualifying round against Blackpool or Atherton LR.
So, make a note of the date, Sunday September 1st (kick-off 2pm), and get along to The J.Davidson Stadium if you possibly can.
