One to relish for new-look Robins as title-winning County agree Alty date
Derby duels with Stockport County may be off the agenda in the Vanarama National League, after their title triumph last month, but Altrincham are still set to lock horns with their neighbours once more, following confirmation of the Robins’ latest pre-season friendly.
Home or away, an encounter with local rivals County always guaranteed the toughest of tests for Phil Parkinson’s side, not least last season when the Hatters secured a long-awaited return to the Football League in stunning style under Dave Challinor.
Points may not be at stake when the teams meet again, but there will be no shortage of interest, as County prepare for life in League Two and Alty continue the build-up to an historic first season as a full-time professional club.
Challinor's champions visit The J.Davidson Stadium on Saturday, July 23rd, kick-off 3pm, and with July visits to Trafford FC on the 12th and the Isle of Man on the 16th already announced, this represents the first of Alty’s home games in their warm-up programme ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
Look out for more pre-season details, here on the club’s website and our social media channels, as and when they are confirmed.
