League leaders visit on Non-League Day

Alty are back at The J. Davidson Stadium for a third consecutive home game as we celebrate Non-League Day 2025 while facing off with Vanarama National League leaders Barnet in a 5:30pm kick-off, live on DAZN.

Setting the scene for Non-League Day

The Robins have struggled for form recently, but we remain just one place outside the play-offs in eighth. As mentioned above, Saturday’s opponents top the table heading into our match, having earned 85 points from their 38 games so far in 2024/25.

The Bees lead the division in almost every metric. They’ve won more games than any other side, scored more goals than anyone else and conceded the fewest goals in the league. They haven’t lost in the league since October and continue to extend their lead to the rest of the division.

The Bees are as good a side you are likely to see in the National League, BUT their last defeat came against Alty.

The thoughts of Phil Parkinson

“With Barnet coming, it’s a huge day for us. It’s a game where the players have got to get themselves up for it, there can be no feeling sorry for themselves. We’ve got to dust ourselves down and we’ve got everything to play for – no one’s on the beach, no one’s giving up on it, no one’s looking at the finishing line.

"We want to go until June 1st, we want to get to Wembley, and we’re going to fight tooth and nail to do it.

“Non-League Day gives us a great opportunity to really show our fans, and our fans to show everyone, what Altrincham is all about.”

Earlier this season

January 2025 – The previous meeting between the sides came in the FA Trophy fourth round at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Rhys Browne gave Barnet an early lead, but a second-half brace from Tom Crawford and a late goal from Joe Nuttall saw Alty advance into the next round.
