We're delighted to have named superstar fundraiser Joseph Adams as our Premier League Community Captain for 2025, in recognition of his commitment and contribution to the game and society.
Joseph has been chosen as our 2025 Community Captain for his incredible commitment to the community and for raising over £400K for the club's disability sport programme through 'Joseph's Challenge: No Limits' last summer.
A British champion swimmer, Alty fan and volunteer, Joseph trained all summer before running 10 10ks across 10 countries in less than a week, an achievement which rightly grabbed national attention and headlines.
Altrincham FC CEO Sam Mackenzie said: "Joseph's achievements are an inspiration to everyone in the local community and we're looking forward to celebrating his huge contribution to the football club and local area during our Non-League Day festivities on Saturday."
Simon Dow of Altrincham FC Community Sports said: “The commitment and efforts of Joseph have been outstanding as part of our Disability Programme and Premier League Primary Stars and the award is testament to all his hard work and dedication to helping improve our local community."
Over the past two weeks, the Premier League and clubs have celebrated ‘More Than A Game’ and highlighting the positive impact of Premier League investment into communities and clubs at every level of football.
The Premier League is investing £1.6 billion into wider football and communities between 2022 and 2025 to support football at every level of the game across England and Wales. This world-leading funding into clubs, communities and facilities positively impacts and inspires millions of people.
As part of ‘More Than A Game’, the League will be celebrating more than 100 Community Captains – individuals nominated by Premier League, EFL and National League clubs for their contribution to their local community via programmes funded by the Premier League.
Premier League Director of Community Nick Perchard said: “It is so important that we continue to recognise and collectively highlight the positive impact that work within local communities has, championing those at the heart of Premier League-funded initiatives. Success on the pitch enables the Premier League to share unparalleled investment into communities and football at all levels across England and Wales.”
Joseph's achievements will be celebrated as part of tomorrow's Non-League Day home game with Barnet as we showcase the positive impact of the football club across the whole community.
