Major boost for Alty as J.Davidson commit to new stadium naming rights deal

Words John Edwards

THEY are the most steadfast supporters any club could wish for, and J.Davidson are continuing to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Altrincham after extending their stadium naming rights agreement at Moss Lane.

The club's iconic ground has been known as The J.Davidson Stadium since 2013, and it will carry on being for the next couple of years at least after a new, improved deal was ratified by both parties.

It is a significant and warmly welcomed development in Alty's long-running close relationship with the hugely-successful Broadheath-based scrap metal experts, and the club are absolutely delighted to be able to announce it, with the start of the build-up to another season so close at hand.

Confirming the renewal of a sponsorship that makes a material difference to Alty's prospects of being able to compete with some of the big-budget ex-EFL clubs in the Vanarama National League, the club's chief executive Sam Mackenzie said:

"It's a partnership that has thrived and gone from strength to strength for over a decade now, and it says everything about J.Davidson that they have delivered another financial deal for the stadium naming rights that yet again shows their continued commitment to Altrincham FC.

"The stadium at Moss Lane is synonymous with the Davidson brand, and we couldn't be happier that something so intrinsically important, the name of our home ground, is shaped by a local company who care deeply not only about the club but the community as a whole.

"Our Co-Chairmen, board of directors and key stakeholders are all extremely proud and pleased that when we open our doors to visitors, we are welcoming them into a stadium bearing the name J.Davidson.

"The values both organisations hold are aligned, which is why the relationship has continued for so long. During COVID, they did not blink. They stuck by us and carried on supporting us on and off the field, and I cannot thank them enough for the level of investment that they have given us."

Long regarded as unrivalled champions of local sport, for the backing they have provided for a variety of initiatives and organisations in the Altrincham area down the years, J.Davidson have played an integral role in the rise of the Robins in recent times.

Their willingness to commit wholeheartedly to providing sponsorship in a variety of guises has always been greatly appreciated by everyone at the club, but it is their continuing presence as stadium naming rights holders that has really stood out.

Now, they have put the finishing touches to an agreement that is their most substantial so far, and the club's board would like to express their gratitude as they look to back manager Phil Parkinson to the hilt in the Robins' quest to go one better than last season's promotion near-miss.
