Altrincham end their pre-season campaign with an exciting fixture at the J.Davidson Stadium, playing host to Manchester United u21s on Friday (7pm).

It concludes three weeks of preparation for the 2026/27 Enterprise National League season, which begins on Saturday, August 8^th with the visit of Southend United.

General admission for our pre-season finale is available to home and visiting supporters online here or at our cash turnstiles. There’s no segregation for this game, with turnstiles 5-6 on Moss Lane and 7-10 on Golf Road in use.

All supporters aged under-14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Matchday at the J.Davidson Stadium

Turnstiles, the Fan Zone and CSH Bar will be open from 5:30pm so all home fans can enjoy the pre-match build-up, with a pop up shop open inside the CSH. Why not pick up one of our new home and away shirts?

“We go from a position of having no games in 10 days in a pre-season schedule to having three in six, so it’s managing what that load will look like. We’re really trying to maximise as much as we can because there’s areas we need to work on.”

Tranmere on Tuesday

The Robins’ penultimate pre-season test was a trip to Tranmere Rovers’ training ground to take on the EFL opposition. Goals inside the opening 20 minutes by Sam Barnes, Tom Crawford and Aidan Barlow sealed a 3-1 Alty victory.

Security on Matchdays

Working closely with our stewarding team, and in consultation with Greater Manchester Police, we are carrying out screening procedures to prevent potential weapons or prohibited items from entering the ground. These checks are now becoming common practice at football stadiums across the country and are part of our shared responsibility to protect each other.

The introduction of Martyn’s Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025) has also placed greater emphasis on the legal duty of venues like ours to assess risks and have robust safety plans in place. While much of this reflects what we already do, it reinforces the need for vigilance and preparation in today’s world.

We completely understand that supporters may sometimes feel these checks go too far. However, we want to be clear: safety will always come first. Our goal is to provide the best possible matchday experience in a safe and welcoming environment for all.
