This report provides an overview of home attendances at Altrincham Football Club across the five seasons from 2021/22 to 2025/26.

The figures are based on the recorded home attendances shown for each season. Fixtures where an attendance was listed as unavailable have been excluded from the calculation. The 2021/22 fixture against Nantwich Town has also been excluded.

Attendances remained relatively stable between 2021/22 and 2022/23, increasing slightly from an average of 2,087 to 2,115.

The most significant growth came in 2023/24, when the average home attendance increased by almost 10% to 2,323. This represents the highest average attendance across the five seasons reviewed.

There is important context behind that increase. The 2023/24 season was a particularly successful one on the pitch, with Altrincham reaching the National League play offs. The club remained in contention towards the top end of the division throughout the latter part of the campaign, helping to generate increased interest and stronger attendances as the season progressed.

The success of that campaign is therefore likely to have contributed significantly to the 9.8% year on year attendance growth, and 2023/24 should be considered a high performing season when assessing subsequent attendance levels.

Since that point, there have been two consecutive seasons of decline:

The 2025/26 average is therefore 368 spectators per game lower than the 2023/24 peak, representing a reduction of approximately 15.8% over two seasons.

Compared with 2024/25, the latest season has seen a further reduction of 99 spectators per home game, or approximately 4.8%.

Perhaps more significantly, the 2025/26 average of 1,955 is now 132 spectators per game below the 2021/22 figure of 2,087.
