With Altrincham FC Women’s first team game against Warrington postponed, all eyes were on the Elite Under 18 side, who put on a show at Partington Sports Village against Kelsall FC Women Under 18, winning 4-1 to kick start 2026.

First team players Francesca Boyle and Millie Kullu were both utilised and were both on the scoresheet alongside Isabelle Breakell.

It was Breakell who opened the scoring after just three minutes, though arguably against the run of play as Kelsall had enjoyed the early exchanges of possession. Megan Hunt did well to win possession on the halfway line and Breakell drove down the right, producing a beautiful lob over the goalkeeper from range.

The Robins were awarded a penalty when Kullu burst through and was tripped after rounding the goalkeeper. She took the spot-kick, though it was saved by the feet of the visiting shot-stopper.

Alty had a plethora of chances to double their advantage, notably through Phoebe Gibson who struck the crossbar from the edge of the box, though went into the interval a goal ahead.

The second goal did come less than 30 seconds after the restart, with Boyle running through on goal and slotting into the bottom right corner.

Altrincham added a third after great link up play on the left flank between Gibson and Kullu left the latter with a tap-in from two yards out.

It was 4-0 by the 56th minute, with Boyle finding her second goal of the game, a composed finish again into the bottom right.

Credit must be given to the Kelsall defence and goalkeeper, who were able to prevent the Robins from adding to the scoring for the remainder of the game despite a dominant showing from the home side.

A consolation goal came with seven minutes remaining, courtesy of a 25-yard free kick just left of centre which was fired into the roof of the net.
