A run of four games in 11 days concludes on Sunday, August 30 against Bury FC Women Reserves at Partington Sports Village (2pm kick-off)

The Robins enjoyed a good season last campaign but a slow start prevented Alty from competing with the division's top sides. This year, however, Daryll Abrahams' outfit have started brilliantly and will be looking to continue their excellent form against The Shakers.

Two Wins from Two

The Robins backed up a 1-0 opening-day victory with a truly outstanding three points against Wythenshawe Town Women on Wednesday evening. Formerly Manchester Laces, Wythenshawe finished third in last season's Division One South, and defeated Alty 4-0 in pre-season.

Altrincham were limited to just one substitute, with multiple Elite U18 players featuring, whilst many players had to play out of position due to only two natural defenders being available.

To make matters worse, Alty played over 45 minutes with outfielder Elise Jones in net, due to an injury to goalkeeper Toni Williams.

Despite all the adversity, the Robins battled magnificently, fighting until the end to claim a memorable 3-2 victory. It was the Elite U18 promotees that made the difference, with Tia Unwin (x2) and Shanai Barrett-Underwood the goalscorers.

"It's going to be another challenge, but unlike against Wythenshawe where we played against a really successful team. It's a different challenge but the same circumstances with a lack of players.

"They're near the bottom of the league, they haven't won a game yet, they've got a poor goal difference, so they'll want to bounce back. You never know with the leagues, they may play some first-team players.

"We've got short numbers but that doesn't mean we haven't got short quality. We've got really good quality, really good players. Young players will step up again."

The Shakers

Bury Reserves have struggled in the early stages of the season, losing their opening three games and sitting second-from-bottom with a -15 goal difference.

After a 10-0 thrashing against Wythenshawe Town Women and a 4-0 defeat against Rochdale FC Women, the Shakers will be disappointed not to have picked up at least a point against Stockport County Women Development.

Bury were leading 4-1 at half-time and quickly made it 5-1 after the interval when Ellie Doggett got her hattrick, however Stockport mounted an incredible comeback to win 6-5.

Partington Sports Village

It's our second match at Partington this week, and we're not scheduled to be at home again until December! All home games are free entry and played on Pitch 2, the 4G pitch on the far side.

Car parking is limited on site, so car sharing is encouraged. On-street parking is available nearby. If you're on public transport, Partington is best served by the 255 bus from Manchester City Centre.
