This National League fixture kicked off with Altrincham looking to continue their winning ways from the game on Sunday against a physical and well-organised opponent.
Early on, Altrincham faced a small setback by conceding from a set-piece, and they had to continue battling through a tough 20 minutes against a well-drilled side.
Eventually, the young Robins' hard work and dedication paid off, with striker Ben Mensah winning the ball aggressively and scoring to put Alty back on level terms.
Altrincham were quick to build their momentum, after recovering so well from the shock of going behind, and they produced an amazing pattern of play, which led to Callum McCormack providing an assist to Will Snyed to put them in front before half-time.
In the second half, the young Robins were quick to increase their advantage when Will Molloy opened his scoring account by driving the ball into the back of the net.
He wasn’t done there, either. After some great build-up play started by Theo Bunting, the ball reached McCormack out wide, and when his cross fell to the feet of Molloy, the Alty player made no mistake for his second of the game.
Soon after, midfielder Kian Mattison showed a touch of class when he danced through the defence and won a penalty. He showed confidence to step up and take the penalty, and it was coolly slotted into the back of the net.
Altrincham continued to dominate the game, keeping the ball from the opposition, and it yielded a sixth goal, as attacker Josh Herreaman picked up the ball and luckily scored through the keeper's mistake.
The young Robins were flying, and they made it seven when Mensah slipped in to add his second of the game and secure an outstanding winning margin for his side.
