We are proud to present Neil and Lora Fachie as November's Business Club speakers

Nothing but the best has always been the maxim for identifying and securing guest speakers for Alty's Business Club members, and it applies more than ever this month.

Neil and Lora Fachie are perhaps the most instantly recognisable names in the world of Paralympic sport after establishing themselves as multi-medal-winning star performers for the Great Britain cycling team for the best part of two decades.

They are also proud Altrincham residents with a fondness for their local football team, and after many a visit to The J.Davidson Stadium to cheer the Robins on, they are now set to make an appearance in The John King Lounge to speak at this month's Business Club meeting on November 28th.

And there will be no shortage of material for both of them to include in their address after stellar careers at the very top of their chosen profession.

Two-time Paralympic champion Lora announced her retirement from competitive cycling after a long-standing and highly-decorated career among the sport's elite competitors.

Over an impressive 15-year career, the visually-impaired cyclist stamped her mark on no fewer than four Paralympic Games, bringing back seven medals for Great Britain, including two gold.

As a tandem stoker, she collected four world titles on the track and road, as well as 15 more world medals, making her one of the all-time greats on the list of British Paralympic cycling high-achievers.

Neil, who hails from Scotland, also managed to make light of a visual impairment to rise to the peak of Paralympic cycling.

He has competed in two Paralympics, as a sprinter in the 2008 Games in Beijing and as a tandem cyclist in London 2012, where he won the gold medal in the men's individual 1km time trial and silver in the individual sprint.

Away from the Paralympic Games, Neil has been just as dominant, if not more so, after being crowned world champion an incredible 19 times and Commonwealth Games champion on five occasions.

Both have been honoured with an MBE and OBE, and we are truly honoured at Altrincham to be able to welcome them to our stadium on Friday November 28th, when they will reflect on their remarkable lives and sporting endeavours for the benefit of our Business Club members.

So, make a note of the date and time - an 8.30am start on Friday November 28th for tea, coffee and delicious, freshly-prepared breakfast rolls followed by an insight into the world of Neil and Lora and then the chance to network with fellow-members.
