Altrincham FC would like to pay tribute to Graham Foxall, Mr Trafford FC, who, sadly, has passed away aged 69 years.

‘Foxy’ as he was universally known was Football Secretary, Head Groundsman & Director of Trafford FC and had the incredible record of missing just two games played by the club between 1994-2024. Two games missed in 30 years!

There is a very strong and enduring relationship between Altrincham FC & Trafford FC and Graham was a regular and very popular visitor to Moss Lane, when Trafford did not
have a game.

Altrincham FC President, Grahame Rowley said: “Foxy, what can you say about him that hasn’t already been said?

“I have known him personally for over 20 years and his appetite for football never waned.

“The smile on his face whenever the club travelled to Trafford was a guaranteed welcome and the way he maintained the playing surface at Shawe View won many an award - and rightly so.

“He’ll be a massive loss to non-league football and his many roles in the game will be hard to fill. A true club legend.”

Mark Harris, Chairman of The Northern Premier League & former Altrincham FC Chairman stated: “Foxy was an outstanding NPL club secretary and groundsman. The pitch at Trafford is a huge credit, both to the league and him personally.

“Above all, he was one of the nicest people you could ever meet.”

Graham Heathcote, a legendary figure at both clubs added: “Some people are irreplaceable at football clubs; Graham was one of them.”

Graham had suffered a stroke at Trafford’s Boxing Day game at AVRO FC and passed away last Friday. There are many individuals who have given a huge part of their lives to their football club, few, if any, more than Graham.

Everyone at Altrincham FC sends their sincere and deep condolences to Graham’s family and everyone at Trafford FC at this difficult time. Funeral details will be advised, when announced.
