Alty look to progress the National League Cup final on Tuesday when Leeds United u21s are the visitors to the J. Davidson Stadium (kick-off 7:30pm).

Setting The Scene

After back-to-back draws against Solihull Moors and Ebbsfleet United in league play, Altrincham turn their focus to the National League Cup semi-final, where we face Leeds United.

Alty’s games so far have featured more goals (24) than any other team in the competition – and Tuesday night’s game promises to be another fantastic occasion.

Leeds overcame Group A winners Aldershot to advance into the semi-finals, after scraping through the league phase alongside Newcastle u21s. Tuesday’s visitors have lost just one of their previous eight games in all competitions and sit 16th in PL2.

Across the last few decades, Leeds United have regularly produced and developed exceptional talent from their youth setup. In the summer of 2025, they sold academy graduate Archie Gray for a fee of around £40 million to Tottenham Hotspur, and international footballers like James Milner, Kalvin Phillips and Aaron Lennon began their careers in the Leeds academy.

Alty in The National League Cup

Alty began our National League Cup campaign back in October, as we played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Charlie Olson and Blackburn Rovers u21s. Matty Kosylo, Tom Crawford and Lucas Weaver bagged the goals before the Robins eventually won the opener on penalties.

After a setback against eventual group winners Manchester United in front of over 3,500 fans at The J.Davidson Stadium, Altrincham went on to win the final two group games against Stoke and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Finishing on eight points from the four games, Alty advanced into the quarter-finals where we faced Newcastle United.

Once again, Alty were involved in a high-scoring affair, securing another win on penalties after a 3-3 draw. A superb cameo off the bench from Justin Amaluzor made the difference, as he scored a 90th minute equaliser and a Panenka, which proved to be the winning penalty in the shootout.
