Altrincham head to their third consecutive away game as we face Hartlepool United on Tuesday at the Prestige Group Stadium in the Vanarama National League (kick-off 7.45pm).
Setting the Scene
On the back of an impressive point at Boundary Park, Alty continued the fine form with a hard-fought victory away at Gateshead on Saturday.
In a game full of chances for both teams, just one goal proved to be enough for Alty. Kian Taylor scored his first goal for the club in the 14th minute of the game, and an inspiring collective effort defensively ensured the Robins kept a clean sheet, eventually winning the game 1-0.
That result leaves us in seventh heading into Tuesday’s game, earning 49 points from our 30 games. Alty have now gone 10 unbeaten in all competitions, and sit just three points behind Gateshead in fifth. Our next opponents, Hartlepool, are just two places below us in ninth.
While they have only lost once in this period, Hartlepool have won just one game in their previous seven matches. With 14 so far, they have drawn more games than anyone else in the league. Their home record is strong, however, losing there just twice this season.

“Going to Hartlepool, a really experienced team – a bit like Oldham – will pose us different questions, particularly from set-pieces, so we’re going to have to be really rock solid on that.
"Hopefully we can have a happy journey to the North East this week, which isn’t always the case when we come up this way.”
The first clash in October
October 2024 – Earlier in the season, the two sides drew 1-1 at the J. Davidson Stadium in the teams’ previous meeting. Nathan Sheron scored the opener for Hartlepool before Lewis Banks got the equalising goal for Alty.
