Speed merchant Michael joins Alty on loan

Altrincham have added lightning pace to their attacking options after landing winger Michael Gyasi on loan.

The 22-year old has joined the Robins from Chesterfield for the rest of the season and has completed the move in time for tomorrow’s Vanarama National League fixture with Maidenhead United at The J.Davidson Stadium, kicking off at 7.45pm.

Gyasi, who primarily operates on the left flank but can also play as a striker, is renowned for his turn of pace and also has an eye for goal.

When Chesterfield signed him from King’s Lynn Town for an undisclosed fee last June, and he was asked to sum up his attributes, he replied:

“I’m quick, good in one-on-one situations and I score goals.”

He can point to evidence that backs it up, not least a stunning hat-trick against Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground while on loan at Dover Athletic.

Though he has struggled to nail down a place in Chesterfield’s promotion-chasing line-up this season, he is in good shape to hit the ground running for Alty after recently ending a loan spell with Gloucester City, where he scored two goals in six appearances.

Welcome to Alty, Michael, and good luck in the number 31 shirt for the Robins!
