Altrincham travel to Somerset on match day nine of the 2024/25 Vanarama National League season, as we face Yeovil Town at the Huish Park Stadium on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Setting the Scene

Altrincham fell to a heart-breaking late defeat in our last league fixture, as an injury-time header from Rhys Browne turned out to be the winner for Barnet.

Alty took the lead through an emphatic counterattack which was rounded off by Justin Amaluzor, but goals from Harry Chapman and Browne saw the Bees emerge victorious in a match that ended 2-1.

Tuesday’s defeat leaves the Robins in 16th place with 10 points from our opening eight fixtures. Our hosts on Saturday have enjoyed a slightly more successful start to the campaign, sitting 9th in the Vanarama National League with 12 points to their name.

After winning the National League South title last season, Yeovil have returned to the top flight of non-league football in a very entertaining fashion. All eight of their games have ended in victory or defeat (no draws), and four have contained four or more goals.

They head into Saturday’s clash on the back of a defeat to Solihull Moors, but as the team that has scored the sixth most goals this season, they will provide a very tough test for Alty.

The Gaffer

"Every game is the same at this level in terms of us wanting to go out and win and get the three points. We went to Barnet on Tuesday to try and win the game and we'll go again down to Yeovil to force the issue and try and win the game there, too."

Last time against Yeovil

February 2023 – The Robins held on to earn a point when the two sides last faced each other.

James Jones scored to give Alty an early lead, but a red card for the centre-back 15 minutes before the end of the game undid his earlier work. Jordan Maguire-Drew converted the subsequent penalty and the game finished level at 1-1.
