ALTY face local rivals Oldham Athletic on Saturday at The J.Davidson
Stadium in our sixth Vanarama National League clash of the season (kick-off 3pm).

Setting the Scene

Altrincham suffered a heart-breaking loss on Bank Holiday Monday as a 94th -minute strike condemned the Robins to a 2-1 defeat away at Forest Green.

An early goal from Christian Doidge meant the hosts led at the half-time interval,
however, Alty’s first-half performance was very encouraging. A front four of Alex
Newby, Justin Amaluzor, Kahrel Reddin and Regan Linney combined well and
consistently threatened the Rovers’ back line but were made to wait to level the
game.

The equaliser finally came through George Wilson in the second half, but Charlie
McCann’s late goal ultimately sent the Robins home with nothing. Alty currently sit
on six points in 16th position after two wins and three losses from the opening five fixtures.

Oldham's season started with back-to-back wins, followed by two draws and a loss, leaving them just outside the play-off spots in eighth.

The Gaffer

"We're giving it everything and we don't look a million miles away. We've got to fight for everything that we want. The start we've had, if you take the Sutton game out, we've been in every game.

"Oldham will be a great game. We've got to make sure we're fiercely competitive."

Last time against Oldham

April 2024 – The Robins claimed a crucial three points in our quest to reach the
play-offs the last time the two sides met.

A first-half goal from Chris Conn-Clarke was the difference at The J.Davidson
Stadium that day as Altrincham won 1-0.
