ALTRINCHAM begin 2024 on the road against FC Halifax Town (Monday, 3pm) seeking immediate revenge in the Vanarama National League at The Shay.
FC Halifax Town’s (7th, 39pts) recent 2-1 victory at The J. Davidson Stadium on Boxing Day levelled their points with Alty (6th, 39pts), with only the Robins superior goal difference separating the two sides.
The Gaffer
A hectic Christmas schedule: “We looked tired and jaded. I think after the Bromley game and travel, you could see we had a limited amount of juice in the tank. We have done everything we could do to prepare for (FC Halifax Town), but they have not done the travel that we have - that 1% in these types of games can go a long way.”
Preparing for the New Year rematch: “We are far better than what we have shown tonight. There is more to come. This (upcoming) rest, we have got to get it right to ensure that our levels are back up.”
Last time out against The Shaymen
Altrincham 1-2 FC Halifax Town
Boxing Day of this year – Altrincham left it just too late to mount a comeback in front of a near sell-out J.Davidson Stadium, as Chris Conn Clarke’s injury-time strike pumaphalved the Robins’ deficit.
