FOLLOWING back-to-back away games down south, Alty return to The J. Davidson Stadium to face early Vanarama National League pacesetters Eastleigh in our fourth game of 2024/25 on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Setting the Scene

The Robins bounced back valiantly from a heavy defeat last weekend to pick up our first away win of the 2024/25 season on Tuesday against Maidenhead.

A beautiful cross from Elliot Osborne found James Jones from a free-kick, and the centre-back’s powerful header past Craig Ross proved to be enough to win Altrincham all three points.

Tuesday’s professional performance leaves Alty in 9th on six points, three points behind Saturday’s visitors who are yet to drop a point this campaign and sit on the top of the Vanarama National League.

Eastleigh have flown out of the blocks, beating Maidenhead, Fylde and Solihull Moors in their opening three fixtures. They are the only side in the division to have accomplished this, so Phil Parkinson and the squad will face a tough task when looking to pick up consecutive wins for the first time this season.

The Gaffer

On Maidenhead - "We stayed positive whilst licking our wounds over the weekend (from the Sutton defeat). We reminded the lads who we are and what’s expected from us this season and they showed quality and resilience to execute a well-deserved win."

You can read Phil Parkinson's full words on our opening the two away games of the season here.
