ALTY search for a fourth consecutive Vanarama National League win this Saturday (3pm) as we travel to Meadowbank Stadium to face relegation-threatened Dorking Wanderers.

The Robins (4th, 70pts) have surged into prime playoff form after securing three victories during a demanding spell of four games over 10 days. The high point came on Easter Monday, as we edged neighbours Oldham Athletic 1-0 in front of a season-best crowd of 4,578 at The J. Davidson Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Wanderers (23rd, 43pts) are fighting for their survival in the fifth tier. Marc White’s side last won a game in early March, albeit, a shock 4-1 victory over champions Chesterfield. Since that success however, Dorking have scored just five times while conceding 18 goals over seven matches.

The Gaffer

North West dominance: “We have been ahead of the other North West teams pretty much all season. We are desperate to stay ahead of them come the end of the season, to show that we are in pole position - and we have worked hard to do that. We are an overachieving football club and that is what we are all about.”

Attractive, attacking football: “We never set a team up to keep a clean sheet. We are trying to score goals because that is what I would want to watch if I was paying to watch football. Even in losses, they are nip and tuck games because we are always going after the opposition.”

Last time against Dorking Wanderers

Altrincham 2-1 Dorking Wanderers (Regan Linney 4’, Matty Kosylo 11’)

Last March – The Robins snapped a five-match run of defeats in heroic fashion, defending a 2-0 lead with 10 men throughout a dramatic second half.

An off-the-ball incident saw Regan Linney shown a straight red card before the break, but a defiant Alty snapped their spell of poor form with a gutsy defensive showing to rekindle our playoff hopes.
