ALTY travel to the Tameside Stadium to face Curzon Ashton in our final
away friendly of our 2024/25 pre-season campaign (kick-off 7.45pm).
Setting the Scene
Alty’s undefeated start to pre-season came to an end on Saturday after a narrow 1-0 defeat against National League North side Chester.
A confident start to the clash provided the Robins with several opportunities to take the lead, but a second-half goal from Nathan Woodthorpe punished Altrincham to seal the win for the hosts.
Like Chester, our next opponents play their football in the National League North.
The Nash put together a very successful season last time out, finishing seventh and in the playoffs. Unfortunately, they were beaten in the quarter-final stage, however, Craig Mahon’s side will provide another stern test for Altrincham.
They too are coming into the game off a loss, but recorded four straight wins prior to that, showing their potential. Now, having been beaten by Avro FC and AFC Fylde in consecutive games, the Tameside club will be keen to regain momentum before the start of their league season.
The Gaffer
"There won't be big rotations (for the Curzon Ashton game). There will be some players coming in, and you've been able to see the last couple of games, we're not far away from what we'll be starting with. But it is pre-season and if you're not on your game you'll open the door for someone who's chomping at the bit to start on opening day."
Last time against Curzon Ashton
