ALTY look to make it three wins in four Vanarama National League matches this Saturday (3pm) as we travel to Hertfordshire to face Boreham Wood at the Mangata Pay UK Stadium.

The Robins (7th, 58pts) produced a scintillating attacking display on Tuesday as goals from Eddy Jones, Justin Amaluzor, Jake Cooper, Alex Newby, and Chris Conn-Clarke felled York City 6-1. It marked our second home victory in three consecutive J. Davidson Stadium appearances, providing a much-needed boost to our playoff chances.

Meanwhile, the Wood (18th, 44pts) have so far failed to replicate the success they enjoyed in last year’s campaign, where they reached the playoff semi-finals, and instead find themselves with just one win in their last five matches.

The Gaffer

Recording our third 6-1 home win of the season: “I am absolutely delighted. It is what we needed. We are capable of that type of performance and those scorelines, and although the (York) keeper has endured a tough night, I also feel that we put their back four under a lot of pressure tonight. The lads have got the spring back in their step, their mojo.”

On Boreham Wood: “It’s been tough. I really like (manager) Luke Garrard, and over the past couple of weeks, I’ve felt (similar) pain. He is a fantastic manager and he will absolutely get it right. They are always a difficult team to play against - it’s never been a happy hunting ground for us, so we will have to go there really positive and buoyant after that result.”

Last time against Boreham Wood

Altrincham 1-1 Boreham Wood (Regan Linney 31’)

Last August – Alty maintained their unbeaten start to the season as Regan Linney’s first-half strike earned the Robins a point at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Ethan Ross, then on loan at the Robins, produced a particularly commanding display between the sticks to keep the scores level despite heavy pressure from the Wood.
