Altrincham manager Phil Parkinson has issued a rallying cry to The J. Davidson faithful as the Robins look to return to winning ways this Saturday (3pm kick-off) ahead of our Vanarama National League showdown against Maidenhead United.

Alty (8th, 52pts) slumped to a midweek 3-2 loss at Hartlepool but will look to complete a league double over Maidenhead and return to play-off contention this weekend.

While the Magpies (17th, 39pts) currently find themselves six points above the drop zone, they have lost four of their last five matches.

Lessons learned on the road: “Tonight we were the masters of our downfall. We know we are better than that. Ultimately, it is a young group and tonight are the lessons that they have got to learn from. When the pressure is on, like tonight at Hartlepool, you have to be resilient. You can’t give a team like Hartlepool three goals and expect the match to end with a positive result.”

Importance of The J. Davidson Stadium: “We have to take the maximum points available from home games, as well as at least three wins on the road, to have a shot at the play-offs. There is still a lot of football left to be played; the fans mustn’t lose faith, in the same way that we have not got carried away with our success earlier in the season. These are the times that we need the fans most.”

September last year – Chris Conn-Clarke’s second-half strike earned Altrincham three points on the road in a hard-fought contest at York Road.

The Northern Irishman notched his seventh goal of the season through a top-corner thunderbolt, a piece of ingenuity which capped off a dazzling individual display.
