Lynch shines at both ends but Alty youngsters out of luck as Marine edge home

Marine 2 Altrincham AOC 1
Report by Alty player Ali Abdullah
Despite snow in the Manchester area, Altrincham's AOC squad were able to make the journey to Crosby to face AFC Marine.
Alty soon worked their way into the game with a bright start, as Adam Lynch went close to opening the scoring within the first 20 minutes.
The first goal duly went the Robins' way when a good run from AJ Oshodin down the right side and some link up play with Lynch led to AJ slotting home.
However, a long ball caught out the Alty back four out and led to a Marine equaliser.
With keeper Noah Tyson injured due to a collision, Lynch switched his attention from one end of the pitch to the other by putting on the gloves and going in net for the second half.
Alty had a strong spell of possession in the second half with Jake Mallen, Ali Abdullah, Byron Haughton and Modou Ceesay all having good efforts on goal. However, it wasn’t to be the young Robins' day, with a Marine effort being deflected past the unlucky Lynch, who was powerless to prevent a narrow win for the home team.
