A goal in each half was enough to give Steven Gerrard Academy victory in a competitive National League encounter.

The visitors took the lead in the first half, finding the net to give Altrincham a difficult task heading into the break.

Despite the setback, Altrincham remained determined and looked to respond after the restart.

The second half saw Altrincham push forward in search of an equaliser. The home side created pressure and continued to look for an opening, but were unable to find the back of the net, despite their efforts.

Steven Gerrard Academy then doubled their advantage, making it 2–0 and putting further pressure on Altrincham. They had an opportunity to add a third when a penalty was awarded, but the spot-kick was missed, keeping the Robins' deficit at two goals.

Altrincham continued to push until the final whistle, but Steven Gerrard Academy held firm to claim the win and leave the young Robins frustrated at failing to turn their second-half pressure into goals.
