Loan Watch | Lucas on target again

Lucas Weaver continued his fine run of goalscoring form as he bagged two goals for Bamber Bridge on a weekend where three Alty loanees were in action.

After netting his first goal in Altrincham colours earlier in the week against Blackburn Rovers in the National League Cup, Weaver returned to Bamber Bridge to continue his goalscoring momentum.

Brig were undefeated in their previous four matches as they headed to face
Basford United, and with the return of Weaver to their squad, the expectations were high going into the game.

After a slow start to the fixture saw Bamber Bridge go 2-0 down, Weaver
stepped up to lead the visitors’ comeback. With a powerful, drilled strike from the
edge of the area halving the deficit just after the 70-minute mark and swung the momentum massively in his side’s favour.

Then, just 10 minutes after his first, Weaver scored with yet another drilled effort, and Brig were back level. Unfortunately, they couldn’t secure the point as they lost 3-2, but it was another fine display from Weaver, who moved his tally to six goals for the season, topping his loan side’s goalscoring charts.

Elsewhere, Joel Bailey and Owen German were in action for Witton Albion as they faced Mossley AFC at Seel Park.

Without a win in four league games, Albion were desperate to win against a side who were only two points ahead of them before a ball was kicked. However, a 1-0 defeat leaves Ben Harrison’s men in 19th place, only one point above of the relegation zone.

Many thanks to Spencer Hayes Group & Darren Harrison (Lucas Weaver) and Ian Watmore (Owen German) for taking out player sponsorship this season.
