Loan Watch | Six players involved this weekend

Harrison Howells recorded an assist in Cheadle Heath Nomads’ impressive 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Sporting Community on a weekend when six Altrincham loanees were in action.

After bagging a goal last week for the Nomads against Stockport Georgians, Howells continued his impressive form by adding an assist to his growing number of goal contributions this season.

He was trusted from the start and completed a full 90 minutes, helping Cheadle Heath into fifth in the North West Counties First Division South. Joining him off the bench were fellow Altrincham prospects Max Whittle and Lucas Edwards to secure the club’s fourth win in their last five games.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Lucas Weaver was another Altrincham player who picked up three points for their new loan team. Weaver and Bamber Bridge headed to Warrington to face Warrington Rylands, where they emerged victorious.

Brig established an early 2-0 lead and, despite a late fightback from the home side, held on for a 2-1 win. Bamber Bridge have moved up to 10th place following that result, only three points away from the Northern Premier League Premier division playoff spots.

Owen German and Joel Bailey were the other two Altrincham loanees who made an appearance at the weekend. They both started for Witton Albion against league leaders Bootle in the Northern Premier League West Division, however, they were on the end of a 2-1 defeat.

Witton Albion are now firmly in mid-table, sitting in 11th with nine points.

Many thanks to Ian Watmore (Owen German) and Spencer Hayes Group & Darren Harrison (Lucas Weaver) for taking out player sponsorships this season.
