Kelly at the double as Alty youngsters hit four without reply
Altrincham U-18s 4 Steven Gerrard Academy 0.
Match report by Alty player Dylan Evans.
Altrincham hosted the Steven Gerrard Academy and fielded a side that was a mixture of 16-18 year olds for this North West U-21 Development League fixture.
The U-18s made a very strong start to the game, having long periods of possession, winning many corners and creating chances early on.
Following an accurate corner that caused confusion in the visitors' box, German opened the scoring with an effort that flew into the net to make it 1-0 to Altrincham.
Alty continued to dominate possession after taking the lead, and when Cooper found Lynch’s feet with a pass, the Alty player drew a foul about 23 yards out. German again showed amazing vision to pick out Kelly, who managed to put it past the keeper to give the Robins a 2-0 half-time advantage.
Midway through the second half, Kelly beat his man and cut inside before bending it into the far corner, making it 3-0 Altrincham.
The Robins wrapped up the scoring, and a convincing win, off a set-piece, as a beautiful corner from Mallen found Richards at the back post, and he volleyed it home to seal a 4-0 victory.
