After almost two years of trading in the heart of Altrincham, this weekend will be the final one for our town centre club store.

Over recent months, the board has been reviewing our retail plans to ensure we're making the most of the opportunities available to grow revenue and improve access to official Altrincham FC merchandise for supporters.

The George Street location has played an important role in raising awareness of the club across the town. It's been a hugely enjoyable and worthwhile project - one that has brought us closer to the community and allowed new fans to discover what we're all about.

From the outset, the store was designed to be run by volunteers to keep the operation financially viable. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has given their time to make it work. That model, however, has made it difficult to maintain consistent opening hours, particularly during busy periods of the season.

As a result, our focus now turns to establishing a permanent retail presence at the J. Davidson Stadium. Work is already underway to create a new shop inside the ground, offering both matchday and midweek trading - this time with dedicated club staff ensuring regular opening times and a reliable experience for all fans.

Sam Mackenzie, CEO, said: "We would like to express our sincere thanks to Bruntwood for their support across the different units on George Street and for being such great partners during our time in the town centre. While we're moving out for now, a future return to the high street isn't off the table and we look forward to working with the Stamford Quarter on more town centre events in the future."
