Bonfire Night on Moss Lane

Remember, remember, the fifth of November as The J.Davidson Stadium plays host to Altrincham against Boston United on Wednesday evening.

The Robins return to Enterprise National League action looking for a turn in fortunes against a Pilgrims outfit who sit six points and six places ahead of Neil Gibson's side.

The Opposition

Under the guidance of manager Graham Coughlan, Boston have claimed 20 points so far in the league, with 12 coming on the road.

Their latest outing saw The Pilgrims register a 3-1 win at Tamworth as they rebounded from a 4-0 defeat at home to Morecambe.

Hear It From The Gaffer

"It's a pivotal game and one that we welcome straight after Saturday. If the game had been Monday night, we'd have been ready for it.

"Our planning started straight after Slough, on the journey home, so that we could hit the ground running on Monday and Tuesday at training. We need a reaction to the Slough result on Wednesday night."

Security on Matchdays

Working closely with our stewarding team, and in consultation with Greater Manchester Police, we are carrying out screening procedures to prevent potential weapons or prohibited items from entering the ground. These checks are now becoming common practice at football stadiums across the country and are part of our shared responsibility to protect each other.

The introduction of Martyn’s Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025) has also placed greater emphasis on the legal duty of venues like ours to assess risks and have robust safety plans in place. While much of this reflects what we already do, it reinforces the need for vigilance and preparation in today’s world.

We completely understand that supporters may sometimes feel these checks go too far. However, we want to be clear: safety will always come first. Our goal is to provide the best possible matchday experience in a safe and welcoming environment for all.

On behalf of the club, thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we put these important measures into practice.
