Bank Holiday football on Moss Lane

Bank Holiday football returns to The J.Davidson Stadium on Good Friday (3pm) as we take on FC Halifax Town in the Enterprise National League.

After a gruelling three-game away schedule ended with a draw at Woking on Tuesday evening, Neil Gibson and his squad will be looking to continue their outstanding home form by claiming a fifth straight win on Moss Lane.

The Opposition

Adam Lakeland's Shaymen sit eighth with five games remaining and are realistically battling Southend United for the sixth and final playoff spot.

Their latest Enterprise National League outing last Saturday saw former Alty loanee Declan Howe net the winner for Scunthorpe at The Shay.

Hear It From The Gaffer

"It's all about the recovery process after Woking on Tuesday night. We put in a hell of a shift and we'll now be resting, recovering and then taking on the match info needed for Good Friday.

"If the supporters can get behind us once again, drive us on, we've got a great chance of securing another important victory."

We'll have more from Neil in the lead up to Halifax over on Alty TV.

Security on Matchdays

Working closely with our stewarding team, and in consultation with Greater Manchester Police, we are carrying out screening procedures to prevent potential weapons or prohibited items from entering the ground. These checks are now becoming common practice at football stadiums across the country and are part of our shared responsibility to protect each other.

The introduction of Martyn’s Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025) has also placed greater emphasis on the legal duty of venues like ours to assess risks and have robust safety plans in place. While much of this reflects what we already do, it reinforces the need for vigilance and preparation in today’s world.

We completely understand that supporters may sometimes feel these checks go too far. However, we want to be clear: safety will always come first. Our goal is to provide the best possible matchday experience in a safe and welcoming environment for all.

On behalf of the club, thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we put these important measures into practice.
