Altrincham Co-Chairman Bill Waterson writes:
There is only one week to go before the start of the 2023-24 season and another campaign for Altrincham in the Vanarama National League. And already the excitement is reaching new levels in the aftermath of our visit to the Netherlands last Saturday.
It was incredible to see so many Robins fans in the centres of Eindhoven and Nijmegen before and after the game, and the 200 travelling fans in the WVW Wourt Stadium that Saturday afternoon put in one of the best performances I have seen in my 50-plus years of watching Alty on the road.
I was delighted to see just how young so many of our supporters were, and whether it was a reward for completion of exams or an unwind at the end of the University year or simply that you wanted to follow us into mainland Europe, we are glad you chose to spend your time with us on our historic venture.
And for those slightly longer in the tooth, isn’t it incredible that we are even getting the chance to play such games? What a sign it is that this club is moving forward at pace.
If you signed up for the Nijmegen game, we hope you’ve been enthused to buy a season ticket off the back of that glorious weekend. And remember, you can buy a season ticket in three separate instalments.
And if you weren’t able to make it to the Netherlands, no matter – you, too, can still purchase your season ticket in time for the big kick-off against Dagenham & Redbridge at The J. Davidson Stadium on Saturday 5th August.
In the meantime, do not forget we have Manchester United under-21s visiting us at The J, Davidson Stadium this coming Sunday, July 30th, for our final pre-season friendly, kicking off at 2pm.
Season ticketing is digital by default this season, sent to your email and held on your phone, but if you want a physical season ticket card, you can order one for an additional £5.
For those who have ordered but not yet received the physical cards, they will be dispatched to the ground in the coming days for distribution to you before the Dagenham & Redbridge fixture.
We are following up on some of the first batch that seem to have gone astray – if you were advised of your ST being dispatched but have not yet received it, please contact the club to let us know.
Individual tickets for all home games are now also on sale and can be purchased here.
LoyALTY cards for Elite, VIP and Premium members will be distributed next week for those who have already purchased one. If you have not yet bought one but would like to, you can find them here.
Thank you all for your magnificent support already, over land and sea, during the build-up to the new campaign, and we look forward to welcoming you back to The J. Davidson Stadium on Sunday and then the following Saturday as the season proper gets underway.
Bring on the Alty!
