Aidan joins Ashton on loan

Aidan Roxburgh will continue his development at Ashton United for the next month after joining the Northern Premier League club on loan.

Altrincham's highly-rated young full-back was snapped up by Robins boss Phil Parkinson during the summer after attracting widespread attention with a string of impressive displays for our neighbours Trafford.

He quickly underlined why Phil pulled out all the stops to land him by showing up well in Alty's pre-season programme and looking the part against higher-placed opposition in the 2-0 home defeat to last season's Vanarama National League champions, Stockport County (pictured).

Clearly destined for a bright future in Alty colours, it was felt that Aidan, who primarily operates on the right but can play on either flank, would benefit from a loan spell in a competitive environment like the Northern Premier League's top division.

He will spend the next month at Hurst Cross and could make his debut for Ashton, also known as the Robins, at Radcliffe Borough this afternoon.

Everyone at Alty wishes Aidan a successful time in Tameside and looks forward to welcoming him back to The J.Davidson Stadium at the conclusion of his loan.
