Academy Pathway Continues To Deliver As Young Professionals Commit Their Futures

The club is delighted to confirm that four Academy graduates have extended their stay with the club, while goalkeeper Max Beddow has become the latest player to sign his first professional contract.

Contract extension options have been exercised on goalkeeper Louie Fallon and midfielder Remi Raymond, while Owen German and Joel Bailey have agreed new deals after continuing their development during loan spells away from The J.Davidson Stadium last season.

The quartet all progressed through the club's Academy system and will continue their development with the first team during the 2026/27 campaign.

Joining them is fellow Academy graduate Max Beddow (below), who has earned his first professional contract following an excellent 12 months of development.

The latest agreements mean that seven Academy graduates have now been offered professional contracts over the past four years, underlining the success of the club's player pathway model.

Fallon and Raymond both gained valuable first team experience during the 2025/26 campaign, with Fallon particularly impressing during a run of appearances when Luke Hutchinson was unavailable due to concussion protocols.

German and Bailey also enjoyed productive loan spells away from the club last season, gaining valuable senior experience as part of their ongoing development.

Academy Manager Paul Fay said:

"I am delighted for Max Beddow to be signing his first professional contract. It is thoroughly deserved and a testament to Morgan Chilton, our goalkeeping coach, and all of the Academy staff who have worked with him.

"We know Max is a player who clubs higher up the pyramid have looked at, which tells you a lot about the potential he possesses.

"The same goes for Louie Fallon, who has also signed a new contract for this season. It demonstrates the faith that the club and the manager have in the Academy pathway and the young players coming through it."

Director of Football John Coyne added:

"This is hugely important for the football club. If we want to attract talented young players into our Academy, there has to be a genuine pathway into the first team.

"The progress being made is there for everyone to see. Louie, Remi, Owen and Joel have already made the transition from Academy football into the professional environment, while Max is now taking that next step himself.

"The manager would not have offered these contracts unless he believed they were capable of making an impact here. Age is not a factor at Altrincham. If players are good enough, they will get their opportunity.

"For some players, the next stage of their development may involve loan spells where they can gain regular senior football and continue their progression. Those opportunities are part of the pathway, but every one of these lads remains firmly in our plans and will continue to be given every chance to push for first team involvement."
