Altrincham 2 Carlisle United 4

Altrincham lost their first home game since the Opening Day of the season in an end-to-end Enterprise National League encounter with Carlisle United at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Alty took the lead after just five minutes when a mix-up in the visiting defence gave Lucas Weaver the chance to drive at Morgan Feeney before dropping his shoulder and finding the corner of Adam Desbois' net from just outside the box.

The majority of the rest of the first half was a battle for midfield superiority, with both sides finding pockets of space to attack, with little end product materialising.

That was until the stroke of half-time when a move involving Regan Linney, David Ajiboye and Callum Whelan across the edge of the box ended with Whelan beating Harry Isted from 15 yards.

Carlisle fired a number of warning shots in the opening 15 minutes of the second half, with Isted standing firm to make three excellent stops in quick succession.

Sam Taylor also made a brilliant block to deny the visitors, before Callum Camps' volley from outside the box gave the Cumbrians their first lead of the afternoon on 61 minutes.

Alty dug in, persevered, and got themselves back on level terms with 14 minutes remaining when Weaver grabbed his second of the day with a smart finish inside the penalty area.

A deserved point looked to be on the cards for the Robins, only for Carlisle to snatch back the lead through substitute Micah Obiero with five minutes to go, before fellow sub Jonah Lowes put the game beyond the home side deep in stoppage time.
