The final act of 2025 for the Robins is the Enterprise National League visit of title-chasers York City to The J.Davidson Stadium on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

With another bumper crowd anticipated, and the Robins looking to get back on track after a difficult couple of weeks, it's a game not to be missed under the lights on Moss Lane.

The Opposition

Under Stuart Maynard, who took over from Adam Hinshelwood in late August, the Minstermen (3rd) are three points off leaders Rochdale having lost just twice in 23 games so far in 2025/26.

The National League's top scorers (61) boast the league's reigning player of the year and top scorer - Ollie Pearce - in their ranks. The forward is top of the pile for goals again at this season's halfway point with 20.

"We know how good York are and the test they are going to offer us on Tuesday night.

"What we have is a group of players who are hurting after the Halifax result. We need to get to the levels we know we can get to, and if we do we can get a positive result."

Security on Matchdays

Working closely with our stewarding team, and in consultation with Greater Manchester Police, we are carrying out screening procedures to prevent potential weapons or prohibited items from entering the ground. These checks are now becoming common practice at football stadiums across the country and are part of our shared responsibility to protect each other.

The introduction of Martyn’s Law (Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025) has also placed greater emphasis on the legal duty of venues like ours to assess risks and have robust safety plans in place. While much of this reflects what we already do, it reinforces the need for vigilance and preparation in today’s world.

We completely understand that supporters may sometimes feel these checks go too far. However, we want to be clear: safety will always come first. Our goal is to provide the best possible matchday experience in a safe and welcoming environment for all.
