Altrincham will hit the trophy trail for the first time this season when we take on Vauxhall Motors in the Cheshire Senior Cup at the beginning of next month.

Details have now been confirmed by the Cheshire FA, and our first round tie with the Motormen will take place at The J.Davidson Stadium on Tuesday October 1st, kick-off 7.45pm, with ticket arrangements to be announced as we have them.

The Robins will be keen to go one better than two seasons ago, when we reached the final only to lose on penalties, but can expect a tough test against a Vauxhall side who are just three points off top spot in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One West table after an encouraging start in their opening five games.

They are only goal difference away from the play-off places after scoring no fewer than nine goals in successive wins away to Bootle and at home to Stalybridge Celtic, so it promises to be a highly-competitive tie.
